Paperwork Burden Reduction Initiative (PBRI)
The PBRI is a national public–private sector partnership aimed at reducing the costs of paperwork and regulatory compliance for small businesses, making it easier for them to do business in Canada and around the world.

External Advisory Committee on Smart Regulation
This committee outlined recommendations aimed at modernizing the regulatory system to more effectively provide a high level of protection to Canadians, promote the transition to sustainable development and foster an economic climate that promotes innovation and investment. 

Government of Canada Regulation Website
This website outlines the federal government initiative, aimed at creating a performance-based regulatory system that will protect and advance the public interest in the areas of health, safety and security, the quality of the environment, and the social and economic well-being of Canadians.

Regulatory Affairs Website
This website provides publications and process guides for download, information about the process and guidelines for submitting orders and regulatory proposals for TB consideration, serves as a convenient on-line resource, and as a launch-pad to the regulatory universe.

BC Progress Board
The BC Progress Board is an independent Panel of eighteen eminent British Columbians from a variety of backgrounds from around the province. The Board is tasked with benchmarking BC over time and relative to other jurisdictions, and with providing strategic advice to the Premier on measures to improve provincial economic performance and the well-being of British Columbians.

This website contains information on proposed and existing provincial legislation and regulations.

British Columbia Regulations Bulletin
This website contains information on all regulations deposited with the Registrar of Regulations under the Regulations Act.

Nova Scotia
This website contains information on Nova Scotia’s Better Regulation Initiative.

New Brunswick
This website provides information on New Brunswick’s Red Tape Reduction Initiative.

Newfoundland and Labrador

Municipal:

City of Winnipeg
In 2005, the Mayor’s Red Tape Commission recommended the City of Winnipeg adopt a number of recommendations to cut red tape.  This website contains the report that outlines the recommendations.

Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development
The OECD brings together governments of countries committed to democracy and the market economy from around the world to share expertise and exchange views to support sustainable economic growth, boost employment, raise living standards, maintain financial stability, assist other countries’ economic development and contribute to growth in world trade.

European Commission
This website sets out actions taken by the European Commission, other EU institutions as well as those taken by the Member States in the Better Regulation field. It also offers access to the other websites of the Commission and Member States where Better Regulation is addressed.

United Kingdom
This website contains information on regulatory reform, including the Better Regulation Executive, which has been tasked by the Prime Minister with cutting red tape so that businesses can be more productive and public services more efficient, by legislating only where necessary and deregulating and simplifying existing legislation wherever possible.

Ireland
This website contains information on Ireland’s Better Regulation Initiative, an important part of Ireland’s drive for greater economic competitiveness and modernisation of the Public Service.

Australia
This website contains information on Australia’s taskforce to reduce the regulatory burden on businesses.

New Zealand
This website contains information on a project designed to enhance the economic and social productivity of New Zealand Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Part of the project includes an examination of regulatory concerns.
