The Regulatory Reform Policy is a cabinet directive that applies to all proposed legislation, regulations and administrative and compliance policy. It is a cornerstone of the province's Regulatory Reform initiative.
The policy sets out 11 criteria that must be used to develop and assess proposed regulation. Ministers must certify proposed legislation and regulations have been developed using the criteria or explain the rational for deviating from the criteria, which includes a Small Business Lens.
